T-Mobile uses Vienna fibre network as LTE backbone

T-Mobile Austria has signed an agreement with local utilities provider Wien Energie to use its fibre optic network Blizznet to connect its mobile antenna's around Vienna. Under the agreement, T-Mobile's more than 130 antenna sites in the capital city will be connected via the blizznet network to ensure availability of T-Mobile's LTE services with maximum download speeds up to 100 Mbps in Vienna. The goal is to reach at least 300,000 inhabitants of the capital with 100 Mbps LTE services by the end of this year using blizznet as backbone.
