Tablet sales plunge 12% in final quarter of 2017

Tuesday 6 February 2018 | 08:39 CET | News
Worldwide tablet sales surprisingly plummeted 12 percent annually to 55.3 million in the final quarter of 2017 following a recent period of resilience, according to the latest data from Strategy Analytics. However, the fourth quarter decline pushed the entire year down 9 percent to 185 million units shipped, said the report, adding that gains by Apple, Huawei, and Amazon over the holiday season were not enough to offset a big retrenchment by unbranded vendors as well as double digit declines at Samsung and Lenovo.
