Tanzania shuts down Jamii Forums blogging site for breach of new licence requirement

The Tanzanian government has shut down the popular blogging site Jamii Forums following new online content regulations, reports The Citizen. The Tanzania Communication Regulatory Authority (TCRA) has disallowed the publication of online content without the necessary licences, effective 11 June. Bloggers have until 15 June to acquire licences, the TCRA said.
