Tanzanian regulator imposes TZS 5.9 bln fines for poor telecoms services

The Tanzania Communication Regulatory Authority (TCRA) has imposed fines totaling TZS 5.9 billion on telecoms providers for failing to adhere to rules on quality of services, The Citizen reported. According to  Philip Filikunjombe, the TCRA head of Enforcement and Compliance, companies failed to meet conditions set out in their operating licences, and did not comply with the Electronic and Postal Communications (Quality of Service) Regulations 2018.
