Tanzanian watchdog starts telecoms traffic monitoring system

A consortium made up of Societe Generale de Surveillance (SGS) and Global Voice Group (GVG) has announced the implementation of the Telecommunications Traffic Monitoring System (TTMS) by the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA). TTMS provides the authorities with the technology to measure and analyse key aspects of the sector in an independent way, with a view to ensuring regulatory compliance and the exhaustive collection of levies by the state.
