TCRA may suspend MultiChoice and Simbanet licences for including FTA channels in chargeable packages

The Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) has threatened to suspend the licences of MultiChoice Tanzania and Simbanet for broadcasting free-to-air television channels contrary to governing laws and regulations, reports the Daily News. TCRA accused the two of failing to abide by licence conditions, despite several warnings to not disseminate free-to-air (FTA) channels as part of their services on subscription channels.
