TCRA says mobile radiation well below int'l standards

Tanzania Communication Regulatory Authority (TCRA) has allayed fears that radiation from mobile phones and towers poses health risks, saying this is well below the internationally set hazard levels. Electromagnetic field measurements carried out in Mwanza, Mbeya, North Pemba and South Pemba found that radiation levels are below the international benchmark, the Daily News reported. The level was determined by random sampling of mobile phones purchased from the local market and sent to the UK for assessment. The TCRA conducts the report every year since 2011 under a special committee on EMF
