TCRA to install software to measure telecom traffic

Tanzanian government is finalising the installation of a system that will measure quality of service by monitoring telecommunication traffic, in a move that will also control proper taxes are taken from mobile phone service companies, The Citizen reported. The Telecommunication Traffic Management System (TTMS) is expected to be operational by the end of the year, ICT Minister Makame Mbarawa told parliament. Mbarawa said that the Tanzania Communication Regulatory Authority (TCRA) started installing the system in October. He said the system has the ability to measure revenue or carrier access,
