TDF partners with Bouygues and Free Mobile to bring LTE to Rennes metro trains

Friday 22 December 2017 | 08:37 CET | News
French infrastructure operator TDF announced that it has agreed partnerships with Bouygues Telecom and Free Mobile, enabling it to move forwards with the Rennes metro project, unveiled in October 2016. The city of Rennes initially hoped to bring 3G/LTE services to travelers on its metro trains by mid-2017. However, none of the country's four mobile networks had so far committed to the project, forcing TDF to delay the start of the deployment and reschedule the launch for summer 2018. Talks are ongoing with the other networks, said the operator.
