TDF secures subsidy for B2M mobile broadcast project

French broadcast services provider TDF has received a 30 percent subsidy from the government's 'Grand Emprunt' economic stimulus bond for its B2M ('Broadcast Multimedia Mobile') project involving six other industry players and the university Institut Telecom. The project's main innovation is the broadcasting in real conditions of multimedia content (press items, podcasts, catch-up TV, VoD) to mobile terminals via a broadcast rather than a unicast channel.
