TEAMs cable suffers service disruption

The East African Marine Cable System (TEAMS) is currently experiencing a major service interruption, cutting off the bulk of internet access and international voice traffic to customers in the East African region. The interruption, which began at approximately 13:30hrs, was noticed by the network maintenance centre at the Teams landing station in Mombasa, Kenya, who immediately commenced traffic rerouting and fault tracing. Teams General Manager Joel Tanui said they are currently working with Alcatel Submarine Networks and Etisalat to trace the cause of the service interruption. This service
