TEAMs contracts France Telecom Marine for fast cable repair

The East African Marine System (TEAMS) consortium has entered into an MOU with France Telecom Marine to carry out repairs on the cable system. The cable has suffered two cuts in less than two months. It will now be restored in a record four days after the agreement, Techmtaa reported. According to the CEO of Orange Kenya, Mickael Ghossein, France Telecom Marine had sent one of its ships from Madagascar and it arrived in Mombasa on 12 May. An alternative repair ship could have taken four weeks to come and repair the cable. France Telecom Marine should complete the repairs on the cable by 18
