Telcel leads Mexico mobile portability figures in Q1

Telcel (America Movil) led Mexico's mobile number portings in the first three months of the year, adding 790,718 net subscribers during the period thanks to an aggressive pricing strategy. The latest figures from Mexico's Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT), reported by Mexican daily Il Financiero, revealed that Telcel was the only major operator with positive net portability in the first quarter, with Movistar (Telefonica), Iusacell and Nextel shedding 300,301, 269,903 and 3 lines respectively.
