Telcordia faces security concerns over US database contract

US lawmakers have warned of possible security risks from awarding the country's number porting system contract to Telcordia, a unit of Ericsson. Neustar has held the contract since 1997, but an FCC advisory panel has recommended that the commission pick Telcordia, which made a substantially lower bid for the contract. Representatives Mike Rogers and C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, sent a letter to the FCC urging the commission to consult the FBI and other security agencies before picking a firm, the Washington Post reports. The lawmakers said they
