Tele Columbus starts to operate fibre to link strategic network locations in Saxony-Anhalt

German cable operator Tele Columbus said it has started to operate a 377 km fibre-optic network connecting important locations in Saxony-Anhalt. The fibre cable links strategically important locations in Haldensleben, Magdeburg, Burg, Zerbst, Coswig (Anhalt), Wittenberg, Koethen and Bernburg. The company can deliver improved bandwidth by switching on additional wavelengths upon demand. Redundant capacity guarantees availability at all times. The new fibre-optic cable network allows connections to scale to internet backbones and opens up possibilities for implementing a central TV signal
