Tele Greenland and fisheries warn sailors to avoid damaging submarine cable

Friday 10 July 2020 | 13:29 CET | News
Tele-Post Greenland has joined forces with fishing trawler operators Royal Greenland, Polar Seafood and fishing and hunting association KNAPK to call on sailors to mind the country's submarine cable when out on the seas. The critical national infrastructure is now more than 5,000 kilometres long and brings internet service to the country. When the cable gets damaged, it is catastrophic, said Jonas Hasselriis, technical director at Tele Greenland.
