Tele-Post Greenland said an attempt to repair the submarine cable near Qaqortoq on 17 May had failed and ice forecasts mean there is little prospect of the situation improving in the near future. The operator is therefore postponing repairs until after the ice season and it expects they will not happen now until the beginning of August. CEO Kristian Reinert Davidsen recognised the inconvenience for its customers.
