Tele2 Sweden appeals against order to resume data retention

Monday 30 June 2014 | 12:45 CET | News
Tele2 Sweden said it will appeal against an order from postal and telecoms regulator PTS for it to resume data retention under the law on electronic communications (LEK) by 25 July. The company stopped retaining customer information in April after the European Court of Justice declared the European Data Directive invalid. Tele2 said it will seek a Swedish administrative court ruling on the matter, and will apply for an injunction against the order to retain data while the case is pending.
