Telecom Argentina buys TuVes Paraguay for USD 8.8 mln

Telecom Argentina has announced the acquisition of a 70 percent stake in Paraguayan satellite TV operator TuVes a few days after announcing its intention to merge with Argentinian cable TV provider Cablevision. In a statement to the Buenos Aires stock exchange, the company said its Paraguayan unit Nucleo agreed to acquire the stake from Venezuelan company Inter for around USD 8.8 million. TuVes provides satellite TV and telecommunications services to around 71,800 customers in Paraguay, while the customer base of Telecom Argentina's Nucleo unit stands at around 2.5 million.
