Telecom Italia acquires 40% stake in smart transport startup

Telecom Italia's ICT subsidiary TI Digital Solutions (TIDS) has acquired a 40 percent stake in Turin-based intelligent transport startup W.A.Y. ("Where Are You") for an undisclosed amount. W.A.Y. develops and markets location-based systems and services to public and private companies in the road haulage and logistics sectors. TIDS said it would help the Turin-based company develop its cloud-based vehicle control systems and expand its customer base beyond the current figure of around 2,000.
