Telecom Italia approves non-binding bid for Nextel - report

Telecom Italia's Board has authorized TIM to make a non-binding bid for rival Nextel in Brazil, controlled by NII Holdings, three sources familiar with the matter told Reuters. One of the sources warned that the process is still at an early stage and that the Italian group is still considering whether to make any offer.
