Telecom Italia begins EUR 8.5 mln Catanzaro FTTH rollout

Tuesday 18 May 2021 | 10:30 CET | News
Telecom Italia (TIM) announced an agreement with the local council to begin rolling out a fibre-to-the-home network in the southern Italian city of Catanzaro in a total investment of EUR 8.5 million. The company said the build will eventually enable residents in around 31,000 homes to access the internet at download speeds of up to 1 Gbps, up from the current maximum of 200 Mbps. TIM's existing FTTC network in Catanzaro already covers around 38,500 homes, equivalent to 97 percent of the city's population.
