Telecom Italia brings fibre service to Sorrento

Telecom Italia (TIM) has begun offering its high-speed fibre-optic broadband service in the coastal resort of Sorrento in the Bay of Naples. The service has already been activated in around 9,600 households, or 95 percent of the population, via the connection of 63 street cabinets. Customers in the connected areas will be able to access the internet at speeds of at least 50 Mbps, increasing to up to 100 Mbps in the future.The operator's fibre optic services are currently available at the promotional rates of EUR 29 per month for consumers and EUR 35 for businesses for the first six months.
