Telecom Italia expands fibre network to Tortona

Telecom Italia (TIM) has begun offering its high-speed fibre-optic broadband service in the town of Tortona in the northern Piedmont region. The service has already been activated in around 7,200 households, some 58 percent of the town's population, with the operator looking to progressively expand the network to reach 86 percent of the town's inhabitants by the end of the year. Customers in the connected areas will be able to access the internet at speeds of at least 50 Mbps, increasing to up to 100 Mbps in the future.
