Telecom Italia planning 3,000 job cuts by 2020 - report

Telecom Italia (TIM) is considering cutting up to 3,000 jobs as part of restructuring plans under discussion with trade unions, according to unnamed sources cited by Il Messaggero. The group led by chief executive Amos Genish is working on a number of projects, including a voluntary redundancy scheme designed to reduce the number of managers by around 100 this year alone. TIM currently has around 550 managers after 200 were laid off in 2017, with the new scheme aiming to save some EUR 30 million a year.
