Telecom Italia plans 'intelligent' phone booths

More than 700 of the old Telecom Italia phone booths are set to get a new lease of life in Turin. According to the Italian telecommunications operator, they are set to become 'intelligent' focal points, with surveillance cameras, but also points of service for the public, for example by enabling them to access the internet. Turin will be the first Italian city to experience this new project, hosting the prototype of the next generation phone booth, which will be installed by the end of February.
