Telecom Italia to appeal against unbundling cuts - CEO

Telecom Italia will lodge an appeal against the decision by Italy's telecoms regulator AgCom to apply a retroactive reduction to the 2010-2012 unbundling rates. The regulator took the decision to cut the last-mile rates following appeals from the operators Fastweb, Wind and Eutelia. AgCom's move means that Telecom Italia will have to pay back a further EUR 30 million to the alternative operators involved. However, Telecom Italia CEO Marco Patuano confirmed that his company would be proceeding with an appeal. "There's a feeling of despair," he said at the sidelines of an event in Rome, adding
