Telecom Italia to bring 100 Mbps broadband to Venice

Telecom Italia has signed a memorandum of understanding with the City of Venice for rolling out a fibre-optic network to bring high-bandwidth internet services to local residents and businesses. The operator said innovative techniques will be used to reduce the time and cost of installation, while ensuring a low environmental impact. The City Council will integrate the existing fibre it owns (the VeniceConnected project) with the infrastructure of Telecom Italia, enabling the municipality to take advantage of connections up to 100 Mbps By 2016, the main areas of the municipality of Venice
