Telecom Italia to expand fibre network to Monopoli

Thursday 12 November 2015 | 15:29 CET | News
Telecom Italia (TIM) has announced plans to install a new fibre-optic network in the town of Monopoli in the southern Apulia region. The operator will use non-invasive, low-impact digging techniques to connect 119 street cabinets and bring its fibre-optic services to around 20,000 households and 27 schools and state buildings in the town. Telecom Italia recently announced that it rolled out around 1.2 million km of fibre in the first nine months of the year at a speed of 180 km per hour.
