Telecom Italia to expand fibre network to Nuoro

Tuesday 28 July 2015 | 10:18 CET | News
Telecom Italia has announced that work is underway to install a new fibre-optic network in the town of Nuoro on the island of Sardinia. The deployment will involve rolling out over 14 km of fibre optic cables to connect 93 street cabinets, with the company expecting to reach 14,000 households, or 90 percent of the population, by the end of the year. Customers in connected areas will be able to access the internet at speeds of at least 50 Mbps, said Telecom Italia.
