Telecom Italia to expand fibre service to Cortona

Monday 26 October 2015 | 15:32 CET | News
Telecom Italia (TIM) has announced plans to install a new fibre-optic network in the town of Cortona in southern Tuscany. The first areas of Cortona will be able to access the fibre network at speeds of at least 50 Mbps in early 2016, with 75 percent of the town due to be connected by 2017 and the company pledging to increase speeds to 100 Mbps in the near future. The operator's fibre optic services are currently available at the promotional rates of EUR 29 per month for consumers and EUR 35 for businesses for the first 6 and 12 months respectively.
