Telecom Italia to launch FTTH in 6 Tuscan cities

Friday 17 July 2015 | 09:15 CET | News
Telecom Italia has announced plans to expand its FTTH network to the cities of Florence, Livorno, Lucca, Pisa, Prato and Siena in the northern region of Tuscany. The rollout will allow Telecom Italia users in the connected areas to access the internet at download speeds of at least 100 Mbps, potentially rising to 1 Gbps, and is part of the company's plans to connect 100 Italian cities to its FTTH network by March 2018. In addition, Telecom Italia intends to provide FTTC services to 75 percent of the country's population by the end of 2017.
