Telecom Italia to take full part in govt broadband plan

The board of Telecom Italia has unanimously agreed to take full part in all areas of the Italian government's recently-announced Strategy for Italian Broadband and Digital Growth 2014-20 and to continue negotiating its role in the Metroweb project. Although no formal decision was taken regarding a takeover of Milan-based Metroweb, the board didn't rule out continuing with the talks as it waits for the government to finalise its broadband plans. According to a report in Il Sole 24 Ore, the company's directors contemplated ways in which to replicate the Metroweb model in cities other than Milan
