Telecom NZ's revenues, net earnings slide in Q2

Telecom New Zealand saw its revenues and net earnings slide in the second quarter ended 31 December while EBITDA increased almost 2 percent year-on-year. EBITDA rose 1.7 percent to NZD 425 million, versus NZD 418 million, in line with guidance. The quarter contained a Southern Cross dividend of NZD 9 million. However, revenues slid by 6.5 percent to NZD 1.32 billion from NZD 1.41 billion in the year-ago quarter. Net earnings dropped 23.8 percent to NZD 80 million from NZD 105 million. Telecom ended the quarter with 467,000 customers for its XT mobile network, comprising 57 percent postpaid
