Telefonica Argentina increases customer base by 6.1% in Q1

Telefonica Argentina reported first-quarter revenues down 21.5 percent from a year earlier to EUR 716 million, hurt by negative exchange rate effects resulting from the depreciation of the Argentine peso as well as regulatory changes. OIBDA was down 19.2 percent to EUR 187 million in the quarter, while OIBDA margin came in at 25.6 percent, up 1.5 percent on the back of cost containment efforts and lower commercial expenses that offset increased costs due to the high inflation rate. The operator increased capital expenditure by 107.3 percent year-on-year to EUR 114 million due to the
