Telefonica Argentina invests ARS 5 bln in H1

Telefonica de Argentina has announced that it invested over ARS 5 billion (around USD 336 million) in the first half of 2016, focusing mainly on the deployment of 4G technology, optimisation of its 3G network and the continued rollout of fibre-optic infrastructure. The company said it had installed over 3,300 LTE base stations in 440 localities in 23 provinces since the launch of 4G services 20 months ago. Its 4G network now covers 70 percent of the population and it has some 3.4 million customers using the technology, which accounts for 46 percent of total mobile traffic.
