Telefonica Brasil improves sales growth to 4.3% in Q1

Telefonica Brasil said it had its best quarter in three years in Q1, with revenues up 4.3 percent year-on-year to BRL 9.983 billion. Mobile service revenues at Vivo rose 8.4 percent to BRL 5.904 billion, while fixed service revenues fell 4.0 percent to BRL 2.740 billion. After a 6 percent rise in operating costs, with a notable rise in bad debt provisions, EBITDA was essentially flat year-on-year at BRL 2.569 billion, and the margin fell by 1.2 percent points to 28.6 percent. Net profit was down 12.3 percent to BRL 579.7 million due to a rise in financing costs. The operator increased capital
