Telefonica Brasil launches new partnerships for fibre rollout

Telefonica Brasil has announced a partnership with American Tower to take fibre-optic networks to around 800,000 homes in 40 cities in the state of Minas Gerais over the next three years, reports O Estado de Sao Paulo. American Tower will build the fibre network, using part of the infrastructure of the recently acquired Cemig Telecom. In turn, Telefonica will build the final stretch of the fibre to the homes of customers, in addition to installing equipment for users.
