Telefonica Brasil to invest more to boost fixed broadband

Telefonica Brasil is planning to increase capital spending by 11 percent to 12 percent compared with last year. During a 25 February press conference, company managers said that they are not satisfied with results in the fixed telephony segment, especially TV and broadband, adding that the additional investments will be targeted at increasing broadband speeds to compete more effectively with rivals. They also pointed said the company has no plans to reduce mobile telephony prices, nor to offer unlimited pre-paid voice or data services.
