Telefonica Chile completes Copiapo fibre build

Telefonica Chile has announced the completion of its fibre-optic rollout in the northern city of Copiapo, capital of the Atacama region. The company has migrated its entire ADSL network to the new technology, allowing some 55,000 homes and 800 businesses in the area as well as 50 educational centres to access the 440 km of fibre cable at speeds of up to 50Mbps at no extra cost.
