Telefonica Chile invests in Data Science Institute

Telefonica Chile's R&D Center and the University of Development (UDD) have set up the first Data Science Institute in Chile. The long-term collaboration agreement includes an investment of CLP 1.34 billion for applied research, which will be effected by a team of 10 researchers who will focus on areas such as computer science and mathematics, and the formation of a new generation of scientific data, applied in strategic sectors for the country such as agriculture, mining and smart cities.
