Telefonica Chile joins disaster relief initiative

Telefonica Chile has been invited to join the Humanitarian Connectivity Charter, an initiative set up in March 2015 for telecommunications operators to provide support and connectivity during natural disaster or catastrophes. According to the GSMA, between 2004 and 2014, some 1.8 billion people were affected by complex natural disasters, and mobile networks facilitated both access to information and coordinated assistance by governments, NGOs and the international humanitarian community before, during and after a disaster.
