Telefonica Chile outlines plans to grow in internet, video

Telefonica Chile has outlined plans to become a full video and internet company within three years. Under plans to invest USD 3 billion in the period 2012-2016, the operator has been upgrading its fixed and mobile networks, based on fibre and 4G. This year, the company is investing USD 500 million, of which half to the fixed business. According to CEO Roberto Munoz, three years ago the company's growth came 75 percent from mobile and 25 percent from the fixed segment, while last year 77 percent of the growth came from the fixed sector, due to connectivity services to homes and businesses.
