Telefonica Colombia helps fishers to increase income

Telefonica Colombia's "Fishing with Mobile Networks" project has transformed the life of 300 people from Tumaco. Thanks to mobile applications, the fishers were able to increase their productivity while at sea. The project was developed by Movistar via the Telefonica Foundation and by Cintel and Qualcomm INC. Thanks to this initiative, participating fishers improved their income by 11 percent between 2014 and 2015 after being trained to improve their skills and competencies to use digital tools to make their work more productive.
