Telefonica completes first stage of migration to AT&T Mexico access network

Thursday 7 January 2021 | 09:13 CET | News
Telefonica Mexico said it successfully completed the first stage of the migration to the access network of AT&T Mexico following the agreement reached between the operators in November 2019. As a result, Movistar Mexico users in regions 1, 3 and 4 of the country – the states of Baja California Norte and Sur, Chihuahua, Durango, Coahuila, Nuevo Leon, Tamaulipas and the municipality of San Luis Rio Colorado in Sonora – can now access AT&T's 3G and 4G network, allowing Movistar to better compete with the Telcel unit of dominant operator America Movil.
