Telefonica Deutschland begins network unification

Telefonica Deutschland is gradually unifying its network identifiers at GSM and UMTS stations. In a bid to integrate the networks of its subsidiaries, Telefonica is currently converting GSM and UMTS stations in Bavaria and Baden-Wurttemberg from the O2 network code to E-Plus. The E-Plus network identifier was chosen for technical reasons, Telefonica said. Clients will continue to use their existing mobile service, Telefonica confirmed.
