Telefonica developing blockchain-based network for Spain's tech parks

Wednesday 8 January 2020 | 15:28 CET | News
Telefonica has signed an agreement with Spain's Association of Science and Technology Parks (APTE) to facilitate the development of identity and secure payment services using blockchain technology. The operator will help the APTE create a private blockchain network serving the more than 8,000 companies hosted in the 52 science and technology parks all over Spain. Under the terms of the deal, the partners will offer the parks a 3-month pilot of the blockchain network based on Telefonica's 'Hyperledger Fabric' technology, allowing them to deploy their own decentralised applications.
