Telefonica Germany said it now provides LTE coverage for at least 97 percent of the population in North Rhine-Westphalia. In the first half of 2020, the company installed around 400 LTE stations in the state, supplying numerous municipalities with 4G for the first time. In addition, Telefonica has started to operate 600 more LTE transmitters in order to increase capacity and speed for O2 customers at existing locations. In total, the company has activated almost 1,000 new LTE transmitters in North Rhine-Westphalia since the beginning of the year.
