Telefonica hits 100,000 symmetric fibre users in a month

Telefonica (Movistar) has reached 100,000 symmetric fibre users just under one month after launching the service, reports Europa Press. The operator began migrating 30 Mbps and 300 Mbps fibre-optic subscribers to a symmetric download and upload service on 07 May. Some 95 percent of the new users have migrated for free as part of the Movistar Fusion convergent package, while 5 percent have paid an extra EUR 5 a month to access the service from non-convergent plans, said the report. Around 65 percent of those who have requested symmetric access correspond to the 300 Mbps download and upload
