Telefonica, Huawei set up 4.5G pilot network in Munich

Telefonica Deutschland and Huawei have announced a pilot network in Munich using 4.5G mobile turbo technology. The pilot network will be used to conduct live field tests of the LTE technology, which will deliver speeds of up to 2.1 Gbps in the lab and up to 400 Mbps in live operations. The first practical tests of the 4.5G technology will take place in 2017. The network is part of Telefonica and Huawei's 'TechCity Munich' project and covers an area in the north of the city around the Olympic park.
